A BIG FAT DAY-TO-NIGHT PARTY FOR A VERY IMPORTANT CAUSE We’re coming together for one big day of music, dancing, community and good vibes all to help raise money towards Megan’s life changing surgery. 100% of the money raised will go directly to Megan. Endometriosis isn’t “just period pain”. It’s a chronic condition that can cause debilitating pain and life-changing complications. Megan has been living with the devastating effects of severe endometriosis for years, and she desperately needs access to specialist surgery that could give her the chance to get her life back. You can read more about Megan’s story and support her below. For 13 years, the NHS dismissed Megan’s pain. By the time she was finally diagnosed, the disease had spread so severely that it was fusing her organs together and beginning to penetrate them. After desperately scraping together the money for private surgery, Megan’s condition was already extremely advanced. Sadly, that surgery left her with permanent nerve damage, the need to self-catheterise daily, and a disability that has completely changed her life. On her better days, Megan relies on mobility aids and a wheelchair. On her worst days, she is completely bed bound. Specialists have now confirmed that her only chance is urgent robotic excision surgery performed by a full multidisciplinary team of experts. A standard laparoscopy is no longer considered safe because of her rare Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and existing nerve damage. The NHS waiting list for the specialist robotic surgery she needs is currently at least 2–3 years but Megan simply cannot wait that long. Despite being on some of the strongest pain medication available, including oxycodone, morphine and fentanyl, her pain never stops. She vomits and passes out from the pain, struggles with bowel movements, and lives with constant bladder and bowel inflammation. She can fall asleep mid-conversation, while eating or even while walking. She cannot get herself out of bed with...
