Rupert Parkes, known as Photek, made some of the most exacting records drum and bass has ever produced. The Hidden Camera and Ni Ten Ichi Ryu took the breakbeat apart and rebuilt it with a watchmaker's precision, and his 1997 debut album Modus Operandi still sounds like the future. Since then he has moved between the club and the screen, scoring for film and television while never leaving the dancefloor behind. His DJ sets pull from the whole span of it: rolling, detailed and heavy. After the Metalheadz Blue Note Sessions in August, this is the next chapter of drum and bass at Faith in Strangers.
