Midnight Bass // Doc Scott (Metalheadz / 31 Recordings)Sub Club, Glasgow · Friday, 5 June 2026
After taking the roof off, and shaking the Sub Club to its core last year for Metalheadz, we had to get him back for more. Trace drum & bass right back to its roots and Doc Scott’s name is front and centre. A true veteran who’s still at the forefront or D&B, he’s been a pivotal figure in the scene since before its inception and continues to push things forward. DJ wise, he’s been there since the earliest days of hardcore, alongside the likes of Grooverider, Fabio, Randall, past guest Goldie and Bryan Gee. He’s cited as one of the first generation of drum & bass selectors who dug deep across the genres to make sense of the newly formed jungle sound in the early 90's and his roots run deep. As a label owner, he’s played a pivotal role in the careers of some of the most remarkable names in drum & bass: Calibre, Marcus Intalex, Ed Rush & Optical, Digital and Friction all enjoyed early releases on 31 Records while Pendulum famously enjoyed their very first release with Scott in 2003 with Vault. 31 is still going strong - forging the genre into the future… Where it’s always belonged. Although he’s most known as an incredible DJ these days, his productions are definitive classics within the scene, such as ‘Here Comes The Drumz’ on Reinforced, the first ever Metalheadz release ‘VIP Drumz’, to the more mellow sounds of ‘Tokyo Dawn’ on Good Looking. He’s behind some of Jungle and drum & bass’s most iconic tunes - Unofficial Ghost, Drumz and Shadow Boxing. Fast forward to now and Scott remains a true champion of new sounds and talents, and we’re so happy to have him return to Sub Club. After last year's stellar performance, we expect tickets to move quickly for this don't sleep!
