SNAPEdrum and bass artist
Snape is a DJ originally from Cheshire but residing in Sheffield where he’s made his mark across the city and beyond, bringing 160 whomping Bass,Footwork and Jungle to venues such as Hopeworks, FORGE, Dryad works,Sidney and Matilda, Plot 22 and more. Taking inspiration from Artists such as Kode-9 Sherelle and Bastiengoat, Snape combines a mixture of styles throughout his sets which reflect his inspirations within the 160/ Footwork/ Jungle scene. Snape has featured at festivals in the UK including Boomtown this year, and Nobounds 2022 under the amazing Beatriachy. Other affiliations include his residency with Mondo radio and a co founder of Bassoff events. SNAPE along with RUBES Co founded the Real housewives which is a collective which run events across Sheffield with an emphasis on providing a space for people to express themselves and feel comfortable in the dance. Since A vast majority of underground electronic music has taken its influence from Black and LGBTQ culture; it’s contradictory that lineups and audiences don’t always reflect the people who influenced these scenes, which is something the Real Hou$wives aim to provide change across Sheffield and beyond.
