Starting his musical days in his hometown of Middlesbrough, he moved to Manchester permanently in 2011 after studying music at MMU Cheshire. His main musical influences come from American, Folk singer-songwriters of the 60s and 70s. Having a sound that has been liked to artists such as Neil Young, Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan. His songwriting and lyrical style brings out elements that make him stand out and very authentic against a mainly ‘band based’ music scene. ‘…a track that could have been written by Johnny Cash but sung like he’d been born in the North…’ – Ralph’s Life (on the track ‘Lock The Door’) In June 2013, Scott independently released his first EP entitled ‘Long Live You EP’. The EP was almost completely acoustic; playing, writing and recording the whole thing himself. This EP gained Scott a lot of strong praise from reviewers, critics and bloggers, instantly putting him on Manchester’s musical map. Less than a year later in 2014, Scott released his second EP, ‘The Northern Gate EP’, which was met with equally as much gratification from listeners as his first release.
