Öztendrum and bass artist
Özten (she/her) is a DJ and producer mixing, curating & creating electronic club music rooted in jazz, house, funky and grime. Her sets put forward percussion and eastern melodies, intertwined with house and rap vocals. The distinction can be seen in the unexpected mixes in clubs, where people find themselves enjoying grime within broken beat, or vice versa, enjoying house riddims rooted through grime. The main aim is to create a different pocket of enjoyment of these genres within the electronic music scene and clubs. Özten is the resident DJ of Dancefloor Education every thursday at Bricks London, and she also DJ's Orii Jam at Colour Factory on Mondays. She has regular radio shows, where she highlights new music and curates different genre blends on South London radio stations where she is a resident: Sister Midnight FM Aaja Radio Brixton Radio Özten also writes for Faded Mag, highlgihting her favourite new artists picks all around the UK.
