Lee was without doubt swept away by house music and was a full on raver when the dance scene erupted in 1989 - music was his first love and buying vinyl and wanting to be a dj his goal. Every penny Lee had went on vinyl, and having partied at illegal raves up and down the country, Lee decided he wanted to be the one spinning the tunes. Mixing music on 2 Bush hi-fi's in the living room and then getting his first set of decks was a starting point, but getting gigs was the next step. Passing out demo mixes was all well and good, but getting a gig was tough... It was in the State that Lee made his name and came up with the now legendary Monster Jam nights. Locking out every week, Lee was creating a style of DJ'ing all of his own, with his now famous accapella use creeping into his mixing more and more, soon Lee was being chased by all the major clubs in the North West. The State will always be close to Lee's heart and some of the massive PA's he brought there will live long in the memory of Liverpool clubland. With lockout crowds every weekend, and with a very special party atmosphere, The State is legendary amongst Liverpool clubbers. The lure of a fresh challenge and a new night meant Lee would be the new resident/promoter of the Buzz Club in Lime Street. The State then closed down within 6 months of Lee leaving! It was at the Buzz Lee started his crazy club night's "Best of British" and soon the Buzz was up there with the best clubs in the city, locking out every Friday…
