Josephine Gyasi

Josephine Gyasidrum and bass artist

Josephine Gyasi (pronounced JESS-ee) is a Bristol-based DJ whose sets balance deep rhythm, emotional tension, and percussive drive. Rooted in her Ghanaian heritage and years immersed in nightlife as a raver, dancer, and selector, she brings authenticity and curiosity to every dancefloor. Her sound flows through Amapiano, Afro-Tech, Gqom, UK Funky, and tribal house, always shaped by mood and energy rather than strict genre lines. She has performed on stages across the UK, Europe and West Africa, with recent appearances at Motion for In’s MOMENTUM, Jazz:Refiund (Italy), Kuro Sounds (Ghana), St Paul’s Carnival Takeover at Glastonbury and Abantu at Village Underground, while continuing to champion intimate room-2 energy. Alongside her club work, Josephine curates Heal Good Music on Oroko Radio, exploring sound as a tool for connection, grounding and collective care.
