Formelladrum and bass artist
Formella is a London-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer moving across the full spectrum of bass-driven club music. Her sets are weighty yet spacious, connecting dubstep, halftime, psychedelic drum & bass, jungle and textural techno through a shared focus on low-end physicality, rhythmic detail and space. Rather than conforming to fixed genres, she builds fluid, narrative-driven sets guided by intuition and contrast. This sensibility was shaped during three years at OYE Records, where deep, cross-genre digging became second nature and continues to inform her selection practice. As a member of Femme Bass Mafia, Formella combines performance with technical education and community-led formats. She has facilitated DJ workshops internationally and led an Ableton production workshop at Amsterdam's ADE. Her sets have resonated at Ankali, Thekla, La Machine, playing for events such as Deep Medi, Keep Hush, Outlook Festival and more across Europe and India. Deeply connected to soundsystem culture and the materiality of sound, she co-built and co-owns a custom sound system with Femme Bass Mafia, an extension of her focus on bass as something felt as much as heard. Her residency Soundbathing on Shella Radio explores slower and more spacious frequencies, feeding back into club sets that move between pressure, pace and atmosphere.
