BLKC (2)

BLKC (2)drum and bass artist

BLKC began his musical journey playing piano as a child, encouraged by his father, who has always played different instruments. In 2017, he started DJing in small clubs across southern Switzerland and Italy, and by 2020 he moved into music production, initially releasing slap house covers and original tracks before moving towards bass house. A decisive turning point came after moving to London to study Music Production and Sound Engineering at Point Blank Music School. Living in London and experiencing the city’s club culture and underground scene brought him closer to Jungle and Drum & Bass, eventually leading him to shift his focus towards producing Drum & Bass and start a new chapter as BLKC. His relationship with Drum & Bass comes from a love for different sides and eras of the genre, from the soulful and musical character of liquid and old-school DnB to the darker, heavier energy of rollers, jungle and minimal sounds. What draws him most to the genre is its focus on groove, rhythm and low-end, and the freedom it offers to move between musicality, raw energy and experimentation. Alongside DJing and production, his background in Sound Engineering has led him to develop a strong interest in mixing, mastering and sound design, which have become an important part of his work with music. Now based in London, BLKC is focused on developing the project, making music and becoming increasingly involved in the Drum & Bass scene, both as an artist and through Wrong Way Home.
